The normal route to Mabul island is to fly to Tawau from Kota Kinabalu (the Capital of Sabah, East Malaysia). At Tawau airport you will meet one of the Sipadan Water Village Resort staff and be transfered by aircon coach to Semporna, a trip of 90 minutes.
From the fishing town of Semporna, a fibre glass speed boat takes you to Sipadan Water Village resort on Mabul Island, a scenic journey of about 30 minutes in good seas.
