Tour Description
You will be picked up at your hotel and an air conditioned van will drive cross Langkawi Island to Kilim River and its delta that feeds the mangrove ecological system.
An explorer boat takes you to a visit of the "Bat Cave".
The way continues to lead by the uniquely beautiful mangrove forest, past to four million years old rock formations rising up of the water and forming an indescribable panorama.
If the weather and the sea permit it, we will make for a short excursion on open sea to a small, neighboring island. The journey carries on along the rocky coastline. At a fine sandy beach a break is inserted which can be used for a swim in the sea.
After this refreshment we will continue following the coast until we will reach the opening leading into the main arm of Kilim River. From here it will take only a few more minutes more and we will reach the famous restaurant and fish farm The Hole in the Wall.
Depending of the time of the day lunch or dinner will be served. The meal contents fresh - and I mean fresh - seafood. Fish, crabs and prawns are from the restaurants pond and will be prepared in Malay- and Thai style and will be rounded up with a refreshing fruit dessert.
A nonalcoholic drink will be served with the meal. Beer, red or white wine are not included in the tour price but can be ordered on your own expenses.
At the fish farm the sea creatures can not just be eaten, also the can be watched in the ponds.
On the afternoon tour you will have on top of all these impressions another highlight which you will have in Langkawi only on this tour.
The short but spooky way through the mangroves from the restaurant back to the jetty is impressive and leads with most participants to “inspired silence”, which unloads itself with the arrival at the jetty into expressions like “crazy”, “oh man” or “what a trip” and gives enough to talk about on the way home to the hotel.
Unfortunately there are no photos of this phase because so far I've not been brave enough to destroy this tension with a flash of the camera.
Apart from rare and endemic plants this area offers the visitor spectacular views on limestone outcrops, wildlife like monkeys, otters and with some luck dolphins. Water buffalos, eagles and sting rays are guaranteed.
