Laman Padi - Rice Museum

By most tourists completely ignored, the rice museum at Pantai Cenang resides in a shadow existence. Hardly anybody find his way into the nice designed terrain. Perhaps it is the large gate and the guard house which stops people to enter.

Whatever might be the reason, it is unjustified. For everyone who has just a slight interested in rice cultivation methods of the past and nowadays should visit the museum. Sure it will be an enrichment and no one should go back home without getting an idea about the major food of the local population.

A selection of planting and harvesting tools is shown and you will find information about rice, planting, harvesting and processing. On the roof plantation, you will see the different sorts of rice growing in mini paddy fields. In a another building is the actual museum room, in which the previous mentioned tools and information are presented. All explanations are, apart from Bahasa also in English available. Even if one don't speaks one of the given languages, nevertheless he will have an impression what it is all about.
