Sarawak plays host to a wide range of events. In addition to cultural and religious festivals there are all kinds of unusual and interesting happenings, from bamboo raft races in the Borneo interior, to interna-tional sporting events and music and cultural festivals. The events listed below are just a sample, and do not include those that take place throughout Malaysia, such as Hari Raya Adil Fitri, Chinese New Year and the National Day celebrations.
